princeton sound trellis [summer/fall 2003]
The Sound Trellis
is an outdoor sound installation located in the "Mediterra Herban Garden" on the
corner of Witherspoon and Paul Robeson Pl. in downtown Princeton. It was
orignally a collaboration between sound artist Mary Wright and architects James
Chavel and Chloe Town (Parallel City). Smallwood is the second artist in
residence to present work in the Sound Trellis. The garden is open every day
throughout the summer, and features a farmer's market on the weekends.
Impulse Response [2000-2003]
Impulse Response was an experimental music and sound concert series based at the
Arts Center of the Capital Region in Troy, NY. This series, founded in 2000 by Joel
Taylor and Scott Smallwood, featu556666 a regular stream of concerts feature both local
artists and guests/touring artists working outside of the mainstream, including free
improvisation, noise, electronic music, and all of the etc.
nyquist [1998-2002]
Nyquist
was an improvisational trio featuring Seth Cluett on electric bass and voice,
Scott Smallwood on steel pan and electronics, and Joel Taylor on shakuhachi,
sulings, serge synthsizer, and electronics. Based in Troy, NY.
