I am a 4th year Ph.D. student at Princeton's Graduate Composition Program. I was born in Vienna, Austria and grew up here and there including Bonn, Kuala Lumpur, Kinshasa, Seoul and Athens. My undergraduate degree is in Electronic Engineering (Korea University, 1994) and master degree is in Electroacoustic Music (Dartmouth College, 2000).
I have worked at the LG Corporate Institute of Technology from 1994 to 1998. At LGCIT or formerly known as Gold Star Central Research Lab I worked at the High Media Laboratory concentrating in digital musical keyboard R&D. At LGCIT's Information Technology group my research focused on voice coding algorithms for the European GSM mobile communication technology. At Dartmouth's Graduate Electro Acoustic Music Program my research and studies were in computer/electroacoustic music which cumulated to a thesis in "Feature Extraction of Musical Signals". I have had (still enjoying!) the good fortune of working and studying with Jon Appleton, Charles Dodge, Perry Cook, Paul Koonce, Paul Lansky, Eric Lyon, Steve Mackey, Larry Polansky, Charlie Sullivan, Dan Trueman, and Barbara White.
My compositions have been/will be played at various conferences, festivals and concerts including MATA 2002 (NYC), DIEM Netherlands, MAXIS 2002 (England), "Listening in the Sound Kitchen" festival 2001/2003, NWEAMO 2001, ISMEAM 2001/2002 (Hungary), Engine 27 (NYC), SEAMUS 2000/2001/2002/2004, SICMF 2000/2001, , CEAIT 2000/2002, ICMC 2002, Third Practice 2002, Transparent Tape Music Festival 2002, Society for New Music Series 2002, Santa Fe International Festival of Electro-Acoustic Music 2003, FEMS 2003, Aesther Fest (2003), FILE Symposium 2003, Relfexionen-Festival/Competition 2003, Bourges Festival 2003 (France), Pulse Field 2003, Electronic Music Midwest 2003, Electric Rainbow Coalition 2003, Korean National University of Arts, Dartmouth College, Syracuse, Princeton and Wesleyan University. My compositions have been premiered and performed by the Brentano String Quartet, California E.A.R. Unit, Ed Carroll, Wayne Dumaine, Entropy, HEAR Ensemble, Nash Ensemble of London, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, and Zoe Martlew.
My current concentration is in electroacoustic, computer music, research topics in computer music and acoustic music.
