BIG NEWS! We (myself and Perry Cook) have been awarded a major grant from the MacArthur Foundation for PLOrk initiatives. Read more here and here. a CD/DVD of Five (and-a-half) Gardens is complete and was just released by an exciting new label, Shhh Productions in conjunction with New Amsterdam Records, a terrific label for new music projects coming out of NYC. Release celebrated at Joe's Pub on March 21. Get it at New Amsterdam's great site. PLOrk is in action again! The beast recently performed in Chicago (video coming soon). We just completed a commission from Turbulence for a new PLOrk piece. The American Composers Orchestra premiered a piece combining PLOrk and the ACO at Zankel Hall on April 25; reviewed here, videos about the project here. A paper about Why we would do such a Thing as PLOrk was recently published in Organised Sound, with related papers in the Computer Music Journal. some rumblings about meter and a new version of the Cyclotron. my sister recently released a CD of really great songs (i do a little playing/singing on it....). check out this beautiful animation for the title track. |
