I spend a lot of time trying to build new musical
instruments and interfaces (thanks a lot,
Perry). Here
are two of those that I've been working on lately.
The squeezeVox is an instrument Perry Cook and I
built to control various singing voice synthesis
models. Working independently, we came up with
several different incarnations of the instrument,
each with a different suite of features.
The elBo is an instrument for live
spatialization and diffusion of sound in space. The
instrument translates gestural actions into spatial
location,
point source velocity, pan width (spread), effects
parameters, and other
diffusion data. The guts fit in a single rack unit
chassis.
