"Komin" Darta is a musician, artist and teacher living in the village of Pengosekan, Bali, within walking distance of Ubud. Komin was born in 1978 and studied music with his father, renowned musician I Gusti Ketut Kerta. As a teenager he also studied at STSI and played regularly in his village gamelan and at wayangs throughout Bali. As a founding member of the virtuosic gamelan ensemble Çudamani, he has toured extensively in Europe and the United States. For more than seven years he has taught gender, reyong and kendang to foreign and local students out of his family home, a short distance from Ubud.
